The Moon On The Square, 1–15 Market Square, Basildon, Essex, SS14 1DF
Highchairs are available | Baby changing on site | Breastfeeding friendly | Bottle feeding supported | Kids menu
“The writer George Orwell famously described his ideal pub in a newspaper article. The fictitious pub was called ‘Moon Under Water’ – which is why several Wetherspoon pubs have ‘moon’ in their name. This one in Basildon is part of a parade built in the late 1950s, when Basildon New Town was taking shape.
“Like all Weatherspoon pubs in Essex, the Moon On The Square has a specific kids menu, baby changing and high chairs. The team insist they are “absolutely” breastfeeding friendly and are more than happy to provide hot water for bottles.”
